The educational process organization on extra-mural courses in a university is generally developed and corresponds to the requirements of the state educational standards and curricula. It provides a small share of in-class work with teaching staff (25–30 %), and most of the time is devoted to independent work of students in intersessional period.Due to the limited time the methodical aspects of lecturing in the course of full-time education can't be used with part-time students. The author describes the importance and opportunities of the most effective types of lectures: orientation, overview and summarizing lectures for the organization of students' independent work.Depending on the nature, complexity and importance of the issues and their role and place in the structure of graphic disciplines and training process it is proposed to use a combination of explanatory-illustrative and problem methods of narration in the lectures. This form of presentation significantly increases the effectiveness of learning. The proposed approaches to the application of information technology in the process of lecturing is designed to assist the lecturer in disclosing educational topics and facilitates understanding and mastering the lectures content by students. This technology of training and lecturing for graphic disciplines allows us to significantly increase the amount of material presented, making it more vivid and understandable. It is aimed at improving the training level of a modern civil engineer after part-time education.

The article shows the importance of the use of didactic principle of visualization in the study of graphic disciplines for more effective organization of educational process, improvement of forms, methods and means of education. The authors analyze different approaches to the classification of means of visualization in modern pedagogy. The proposed classification of clarity with regard to graphic disciplines can be used not so much for their classification, as for the full and effective use of their capabilities in the learning process. The article demonstrates structural links between the stages of clarity, use of funds, ways and rules of their use, leading to successful achievement of the goals for the revitalization of the educational process and enhancing cognitive interest of students. Practical recommendations for the integrated use of means of presentation in the classes on descriptive geometry, engineering graphics and computer graphics are given. Special attention in the learning process is paid to the role of the teacher. In addition to his or her professional knowledge, a teacher should possess oratory skills, to competently combine the rhetoric and psychological techniques to use interactive and effective active forms of training, including workshops, to engage students in the learning process, to monitor feedback from the students’ audience. When conducting different kinds of practice, teachers should know the advantages and disadvantages, strengths and weaknesses, timely application of every means of presentation for greater impact and effect in the educational process. The effectiveness of using the selected visualization tools is largely determined by the methods and techniques of their use in the classroom. It is important to consider the following factors: location, convenient for review, and approach; the accessibility; the expert support of a demonstration by the review; the duration of the demonstration; training students to perceive the means of presentation, and pedagogical skills of the teacher. The article considers theoretical and methodical aspects of the use of the didactic possibilities of visual means of education, which are of great importance in the improvement of teaching graphic disciplines, mastering the methods of their rational use.

The authors consider the reasons for the poor development of spatial representation of students from first rate universities. As a method of successful development of spatial representation while studying graphic disciplines it is proposed to use an approach, including objectives, methods, techniques and exercises, assignments and tests, which was developed at the Department of descriptive geometry and graphics. All the exercises are classified into the following groups: building a left view basing on two given projections; addition of the views (main, top or left) with the missing lines according to a projection relationship; building axonometric projection of a detail (node) on the given orthogonal projections; comparison of the detail drawing with the model and its visual image; mapping a complex drawing and a visual depiction of a component; building of missing projections of points on certain surfaces of the details; the view of the subject’s form by partitioning it into separate geometric bodies, etc. The authors also demonstrate the importance of taking into account individual characteristics of students in order to improve their spatial representations. Each group of exercises of this system focuses on conscious and active work of students and solves a certain problem arising from the theoretical foundations of the development of spatial representation.
